Country. Dec 10, 2021. #1. I‘m trying to play PKG files with their connected RAP files on a PS3 Super Slim with HFW and HEN. Yet every time I try to load one, it states it needs to be connected to PSN to authorise. I tried activating the console, with an alternate account, and I tried putting the RAP files on a USB drive, yet to no avail.
After many trials errors I found that only by having game folders on “games” (small letters folders) then I can have that games on main menu and play directly. Currently the only way I know: Download games from websites. Extract games. Run CFW2OFW. Paste games to “games” folder. However I am aware that not all games are convertible
Basically the steps are. Apply Flux (preferably sticky flux or chip quick) around the chip. Heat the chip until it moves when prodded then gently remove it. Clean the pads underneath. Wait for the board to cool, then apply flux to the contacts and seat the new chip. Heat until surface tension forces the new chip into place.
