A recurring problem is the loss of tightness of the washer under the injector through which the exhaust gases enter. The 1.6 HDi engine also has a problem with losing the flow of the oil supply line to the turbine. The problem was finally resolved by removing the clogged filter. Durability: 400,000 km. Citroen recommend in all cases where this fault code is present that should the fault code re appear after it's been cleared that the entire ABS pump/modulation unit be replaced at a cost of £613 + VAT, plus it has to be coded to the car. the quote was £720

This was quicker at lower end speed especially for pulling away. 3 X Polo did approx 80 - 90k with no engine or gearbox problems at all in three years. This car was suited better for sitting on a motorway at approx 85mph, but was noiser. We did have a lot of problems with front tyre, brakes and steering rack wear.
