thats why his save files are in folder number 420 and not like the steam version which uses 856 , i do not know why Steam changed the default location for the save files ,on their version of the game , i only know they did . your save files in your 856 or 420 folder should look like (depending on the version of the game you have ) again steam
Launch Uplay on it's own first. It will fail to login & ask if you want to launch in Offline mode, or it will go ahead & load up in Offline mode on it's own. Once Uplay is open in offline mode go ahead & launch the game from Steam while still already having Uplay opened in Offline mode.

So whatever you do, you better get to the next checkpoint before quitting, e.g. liberate a radio tower/free an outpost. Achievement based activities like opening chests or tearing posters off

I played for an hour or so, doing the final mission to take down. Then, I quit and restored the old files. Didn't seem to affect the save. When I restarted, Pagan was still dead.
