I'm having problems with my new 5s. I can't seem to get any service when I want to use mobile data. When I switch it on, I get a 'can't connect to internet' message. I've only had it a few days and I never had this problem with my old 4s. Can anyone help? Thanks
OK, should work then. Try a manual search for a different network to the one you have auto connected to. Also check your apn is correct as detailed
Tap System. Tap System Update. Tap Check for update . If a system update is available, tap Install. You might need to restart your phone to complete the update. If a system update is not available, the screen will say “Your system is up to date." 8. Troubleshoot connection issues on the Google Fi app (Android 11 & up)
the APN to try is "mobile.o2.co.uk" This website uses cookies. By clicking Accept, you consent to the use of cookies.
You could pay £4.99 a day for an O2 bolt-on that’ll give you 120 texts, 120 minutes and all the data you’ll need. Which would cost you a total of £69.86 over your two-week holiday.

If you can connect to other applications on your data network, but not WhatsApp, it could be that your mobile provider has configured your wireless access points to block certain chat applications. Try this if WhatsApp still will not work on data only: Contact your mobile provider and ask them about different access point settings to run chat
Thanks for your suggestions! My roaming data was on and this was the reason why I was sort of panicking. In the meantime, I used the O2 live chat and they were most helpful. They suggested that I reset the network settings and, after turning my phone back on, I could finally get reception. Go figure
